Agreement Overview
Azul develops runtime platforms for executing Java-based applications, and DoD ESI has established a catalog for the purchase of its products through the NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP) Agency, which is a Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) managed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
Azul specializes in delivering server-based Java applications for web-facing customers, meeting specific latency targets for real-time business systems, ensuring timely security updates for the Java estate, and delivering Java-based solutions for ISV, OEM, and other embedded use cases. Azul is exclusively focused on Java and the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), and it builds fully supported, certified standards-compliant Java runtime solutions for the Enterprise, Cloud, and embedded Internet of Things (IoT) environments.
There are two main families of Azul software:
1. Zing is Azul’s JVM, designed for a wide variety of Enterprise Java applications and workloads that may require any combination of low latency, high transaction rates, large working memory, improved query performance, and/or consistent response times.
2. Zulu is certified, open source builds of OpenJDK with a variety of flexible support options, available in configurations for ISVs, Enterprises, and on-premises or Cloud deployments, as well as custom and embedded/IoT devices.
Products are subscription licenses and include various levels of support programs.
