Open JDK Solutions Offered Through DoD ESI/NASA SEWP Partnership

May 22, 2020

For those seeking software solutions and maintenance for Open Java Development Kit (Open JDK), DoD ESI has partnered with NASA SEWP V to provide offerings from Azul and Red Hat. This partnership was created to reduce administrative costs associated with acquiring open market software and services. Both OEMs offer new software products, subscriptions, maintenance, support, and services.

Azul specializes in delivering server-based Java applications for web-facing customers, meeting specific latency targets for real-time business systems, ensuring timely security updates for the Java estate, and delivering Java-based solutions for ISV, OEM, and other embedded use cases. This OEM is exclusively focused on Java and the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), and builds fully supported, certified standards-compliant Java runtime solutions for the Enterprise, Cloud, and embedded Internet of Things (IoT) environments. Red Hat develops runtime platforms for executing Java-based applications, and its Open JDK build is based on the Open JDK 8u and 11u projects. It provides Server and Workstation Software subscriptions, maintenance, consultation, and support. For more information regarding the Red Hat agreement, click here.

Azul Now Availiable through NASA SEWP Catalog

April 15, 2020

DoD ESI customers may now order Azul software through the NASA SEWP catalog. Azul is the industry’s first company dedicated to supporting an Enterprise-quality, commercialized version of OpenJDK across various operating systems, hypervisors and Cloud platforms, provides alternatives to Java by developing runtime platforms for executing Java-based applications, and has targeted and solved the most difficult Java performance problems; issues that have plagued the Java community for years. Most of Azul’s innovations are available in Zing®, the only Java runtime Java Virtual Machine (JVM) that has solved the Java garbage collection issue, addressing many Java performance issues without requiring redesign or re-architecting.
