DoD ESI Mentioned as IT Success Story by OMB

April 3, 2018

The DoD ESI program, primarily staffed by SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific, was featured as an IT Success Story by the Office of Management and Budget for implementing Category Management (https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2016/10/07/2016-24054/category-management).  OMB released this IT Success Story for "Information Sharing - Improving Acquisition Expertise by Sharing Best Practices" alongside the release of the President's Management Agenda (https://www.performance.gov/PMA) on Tuesday, 20 March 2018.

OMB states that DoD ESI has been a leader in developing tools that will help Government agencies buy software, sharing best practices while following the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). These tools help guide Government IT buyers through the challenges of understanding complex software terms and conditions, as well as the many elements involved in vendor management.
